First, a special season of the EI’s Energy In Conversation podcast is already under way, bringing young professionals from different parts of the energy world into conversation with senior figures from the sector, discussing their areas of specialism as well as their career motivations, hopes and concerns. Most recently released were episodes on ‘Making CCUS a Reality’ and ‘Unlocking the Grid’, with participants from BP, Drax, IBM, Vattenfall and others. More are to follow on climate finance, sustainable aviation fuel and universal energy access.
其次，一系列国际圆桌会议也在进行中，再次将年轻专业人士的小组联系在一起，具有领先地位的数字。The first took place as part of IP Week 2021, at which young professionals, the UK’s Net Zero Business Champion, the CEO of Chrysaor and others debated the central question of whether global warming of 2°C or less is within reach and the actions needed from governments and companies to meet this and other global energy challenges.
Finally, activities in the run up to and at COP26 itself in Glasgow in November are being developed as part of the Generation 2050 initiative, with the lead being taken by the EI’s young professionals in Aberdeen, Highlands and Islands, in collaboration with networks around the world. Generation 2050 is an initiative intended to build intergenerational dialogue so, whether you’re early in your career or more established and in a leadership role, please help spread the word within your networks to increase the reach of these activities.
