Good post, Ed--you can't underestimate the importance of good interview skills, because they also translate into good presentation skills, which are a must for anyone hoping to climb the career ladder, have his/her own business, or work in sales or politics.

I wonder if part of the problem is technology--I see my tween daughter, for example, communicate more with her friends via texting or emailing than face-to-face or over the phone. Culturally, have many people simply gotten out of the habit of face-to-face interaction and thereby deprived themselves of practice at it?
